Music is the language of the spirit.
It opens the secret of life bringing peace,
abolishing strife.

Parents Page
I like to share with parents my intentions, expectations, insights and suggestions to assist in the process of getting the most out of piano lessons at Yungling Piano Studio.
Of course I'm a piano teacher and I intend that my students develop the highest level of piano, music making, and artistry skills. At the same time, I'm committed to developing and shaping my students into upstanding and responsible people who are confident in themselves and competent at approaching, assessing and solving challenges.
In music, there will be no shortage of challenges to enjoy!
First and foremost, students are required to practice daily. It is expected that one or more parent will be involved to monitor practice time and to encourage students in their weekly goals.
Parents who do not enforce the practice requirement will cause their child to be disqualified from future registration at Yungling Piano Studio.
Students at Yungling Piano Studio will learn, develop and aspire to a high degree of music making so that they may enjoy and share the rich experiences playing the piano offers. As well they will develop a solid respect for themselves and others through the discipline and commitment that piano lessons provide.
My Requirements and Expectations for piano students

Insights and Suggestions
In my experience, students report more satisfaction when at least one parent is actively involved in the piano lessons. Some examples of active participation might include asking questions, helping with workbook assignments, or simply listening to a song the student is playing.
Participation
I welcome parents into the studio during the lesson. It's fun and some children love to play while a parent is watching. You can even learn a few notes to play duets with your child!
Sharing
Another way parents might participate is to engage in shared research projects about composers and instruments. Youngsters will frequently ask you, "Do you like this piece of music?", or, "Does this sound nice?" The more you know about the music your child is playing, the greater the opportunities for deeply sharing the musical experiences your child is having.
Encouragement
Encouraging a young musician and inspiring him or her to honor the commitment and practice regularly is essential to success. Request and encourage frequent home performances and your child's confidence and enthusiasm will blossom wildly. Frequent home concerts are fun and rewarding for everyone.
